Founded in 1949, HELD is now one of the world's leading mechanical engineering companies with a focus on the development, construction and worldwide distribution of isobaric double belt presses. Semi-finished products are produced with sheet and plate-shaped materials such as films, fabrics, mats of fibres, scattered granulate or powder in a continuous process such as pressing, laminating, consolidating and smoothing. An important field of application in which HELD already has decades of experience is the production of membranes for fuel cells and hydrogen electrolysis. HELD is not only networked with industry partners, but also in the research and development sector: HELD cooperates with renowned research institutes, for example, when it comes to developing new material technologies that set new standards in the industry. The in-house technology park with two facilities offers ideal conditions for this. Here, customers can further develop their product from sample to series production. As early as 1999, customers were producing key fuel cell components for stationary and mobile applications at HELD's technology park. The technologically unique facilities ensure that customers accomplish high efficiency with above-average product quality. As a system provider, HELD also develops and produces the peripheral units connected to the double belt press and the steel belts, the "pressing tool" of the machines.
