Heilbronn State University (HHN) is located in the centre of one of Germany's strongest economic regions, close to the conurbations of Stuttgart, Heidelberg and Mannheim. With approximately 8,300 students, the HHN is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg with a competence focus on technology, business and computer science. In Heilbronn, Künzelsau and Schwäbisch Hall, the HHN offers over 50 Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. HHN is a transfer partner for knowledge, technologies as well as consulting and other services. The researchers consider themselves market-oriented service providers and competent science partners for companies in the region. Three high-performance fields of competence represent the main areas of research: Automotive & Mobility, Materials Processing & Engineering as well as Digital Environments and Health. Institutes are core elements of inter-faculty research, examples of which are the Institute of Automotive Engineering & Mechatronics (IKM), the Usability & Interaction Technology Laboratory (UniTyLab) or the Institute of Medicine, Informatics and Economics (GECKO). Strategies for the logistics of the future are the focus of the LOGWERT competence centre.
Research and teaching on electric mobility takes place primarily in the Automotive Systems Engineering (ASE) degree programme. Within the University Federation SouthWest (HfSW), the HHN is a partner in the extra-occupational degree programme Electric Mobility.
