ebm-papst

engineering a better life

The company ebm-papst Mulfingen GmbH & Co. KG is a leading global manufacturer of fans and motors.

In 1963, the company was founded as "Elektrobau Mulfingen" by Gerhard Sturm and Heinz Ziehl. With 27 manufacturing sites, a group turnover of over two billion euros and around 15,000 employees worldwide, ebm-papst has risen to become a global player with its main locations in Mulfingen, St. Georgen and Landshut.

The product portfolio comprises more than 20,000 products that are used in a wide variety of industries and are suitable for practically every application in air and propulsion technology.

The area of research and development enjoys a special status at ebm-papst. In order to continue to be successful with innovative products in the future, 140.9 million euros were invested in this area in the past business year alone.

This future aspect underlines the expansion of the existing product portfolio by the newly founded HighSpeed division. This area concentrates on the development of compact and robust turbo compressors which allow variable delivery rates of various gases such as cooling agents, air or hydrogen in the motor performance range from 1 to about 45 kW. A steady gas flow is indispensable for the reaction processes in fuel cells. The ebm-papst HighSpeed turbo compressors are a perfect fit for this application area, among others.
