Integrative development, testing and validation of intelligent mobility systems
Future mobility systems are becoming increasingly complex: They concern urban and interurban environments, vehicle interiors and exteriors, drive systems, E/E systems and AI — whether on the road, on rail or in the air. Requirements for safety, security and also acceptance are increasing. To bring these aspects together for the research and development of new technologies, we at Fraunhofer IOSB offer a broad approach:
- Development of classic and AI-based methods for vehicle- and infrastructure-based perception, occupant activity recognition and motion planning
- Methods for explainability and validation of AI
- Operating a driving simulator for MMK and subject studies
- Operating two test vehicles for testing hardware and software for automated driving in public transport
- Collecting, anonymising, annotating sensor data
In order to facilitate the development and testing of intelligent mobility systems, we are working together with partners on the open simulation platform OCTANE (www.octane.org), are a partner of the Autonomous Driving Test Field Baden-Württemberg and are conducting data collection of security-relevant traffic situations.
